Secca delle Fumose (Via Miliscola, 165, 80078 Pozzuoli NA, Italy)

Pozzuoli Bay, Campi Flegrei.

Volcano: Campi Flegrei (see Campi Flegrei at the Smithsonian Institution website in a new tab)
Type: Bubbling Water
Description: Secca delle Fumose is a small (0.14 km2) ridge-shaped submarine relief located 800 m from the coast in the north-western sector of Pozzuoli Bay.Today there are several thermal vents discharging hot (808C) gas-rich hydrothermal fluids interspersed within the SdF Roman pilae. The isotope composition of the released gas-es (C and He) are similar to those released in the Solfatara-Pisciarelli area, possibly indicating a common fluid origin.
