Kampos (Epirus and Western Macedonia)

Type: Well
Description: Water from a drilling very rich in gas and iron oxides. The owner, a farmer, gets water from the drilling without a pump although the drilling has no artesian flow. To lift the water the owner pumps a short stream of compressed air at a certain depth and once the water comes up the free gas phase that separates self-sustains the upflow of the water. Water level at about 20 m, total depth of the drilling 110 m. The gas-rich level was found at 60 m depth.
